Spotlight on Viktoriia and Sofiya: Future of Music in Montenegro

Shishkina Viktoriia
Victoria was born in Russia in 2013. She began her musical education in 2020 at the “Na Vasilyevskom” Centre in Saint Petersburg, where she sang in the Amelia Choir. In 2021, she started studying the flute at the same centre. Since 2023, Victoria has been a member of the City Music Orchestra as a flutist. In 2022, she began studying violin at the Music School in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. During her years of study, Victoria has taken part in many school concerts. In 2025 as a solo performer and in 2026 as part of a duet, she received a special award with 100 points at the Matica Crnogorska competition, and in 2026 she participated in the state competition as part of a violin duet.

Stsepchanka Sofiya
Sophia is a vibrant 14-year-old violinist, originally from Belarus. She started playing the violin when she was 8 years old, and studied at Children’s Art School No. 5 in Gomel. There she made her first steps in the world of music and gained her first experience on stage. In 2022 she moved to Montenegro and continued studying the violin at a local Music School in Herceg Novi. Under the mentorship of professors Elena and Anita Popovic she has shown remarkable growth and developed strong musical skills. Since 2022, she has participated in many competitions and concerts, showing great results and achievements. In 2026 as a part of a duet she received a special award with 100 points at the Matica Crnagorska competition. The same year she participated in a state competition as part of a violin duet. In addition to her musical achievements, Sophia has passion for dancing and has been a member of the local dance club Diano since 2023.
